reactivate the PayPal buttons. It took a lawyer from SourceForge to get those morons from PayPal to admit their mistake.
For future reference, here's the email part Adam Heller (the lawyer from SF.NET) forwarded to me:
Begin forwarded message:
> From: "Carson, Michael" <mcarson@paypal.com> > Date: November 11, 2010 2:16:18 PM EST > To: Adam Heller <aheller@geek.net> > Subject: RE: Paypal/SourceForge > > Hi Adam – > > To follow up on this, I confirmed that the PayPal restriction has been removed and the user can accept donations through PayPal on the website below. Donations for certain categories are restricted, but this is not one of them. The account has been flagged as approved internally to hopefully avoid any future issues. > > Thanks, > > Mike > > From: Adam Heller [mailto:aheller@geek.net] > Sent: Monday, November 08, 2010 3:52 PM > To: Carson, Michael > Subject: Paypal/SourceForge > > Michael > > I am writing in regards to an issue that you helped on several years ago. As you may recall, SourceForge (recently renamed Geeknet) hosts open source projects and many of these projects get donations to support their work. One of these projects, http://tortoisesvn.net recently had their Paypal account shut down and I was hoping you could help us understand the issue, and see if there are ways to resolve it. > > The email account associated with the Paypal account is stefankueng@gmail.com. Attached is some background emails on the subject.
